About Us
Who Are We?
In the wake of Tanzania’s turbulent 2025 elections, which left countless women widowed and children orphaned amid widespread violence and unrest, two East African visionaries—James Mogusu from Kenya and Raymond Saitoti from Tanzania—joined forces to create LWDF-TZ. Our startup NGO empowers vulnerable communities through skills training and health education, turning adversity into opportunity and fear into informed action.
In rural Tanzania, particularly post the 2025 elections marked by violence, arrests, and hundreds of civilian deaths, women and children face compounded vulnerabilities. HIV prevalence stands at 4.4% among adults (5.6% for women, 3.0% for men), affecting about 1.5 million people and leaving many orphans in poverty.
Limited access to vocational skills and health education perpetuates cycles of dependency, stigma, and inequity—gaps LWDF-TZ fills by providing targeted, community-led solutions.
Our Vision: Empowering women and children by replacing fear with facts, fostering informed health choices, equity, and lasting dignity.
Our Mission: To promote HIV awareness by actively collaborating with government, stakeholders, and benefactors through adherence to policies and strategies, providing inclusive and exclusive services to beneficiaries.
